Adana International Hospital

Abstract

Adana Uluslararası Hastanesi tıbbi kurum olarak ABCFM misyonerleri tarafından Adana’da 1909 senesinde şehrin sakinlerine tıbbi destek vermek ve ABCFM’in birincil hedefi olan hristiyanlığı yaymak amacıyla kurulmuştur. Bu araştırma, hastanenin kuruluşu ve kurulduğu dönemde gözlemlenen durumlar hakkında detaylı bilgi vermektedir. Bu rapor ilaveten, ABCFM misyonerleri tarafından senelik olarak yazılmış raporlarda gösterilen hastanedeki ve Adana’daki durumlar ile ilgili unsurları analiz etmeyi hedeflemiştir. Adana International Hospital was a medical institution established by ABCFM missionaries in 1909 in Adana whose aim was to provide medical services to the locals and to assist in the ABCFM’s primary objective of spreading Christianity. This research paper gives us details about its formation and the externalities which were taken into consideration when building the hospital. This report also aims to analyze facts given in several annual reports of the hospital written by ABCFM missionaries about the hospital and the conditions of Adana at that time.
