dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractAhmet Mithat Efendi Türk Edebi Tarihi'ne önemli eserler katmış bir yazardır. Çocukluğundan itibaren zor günler geçiren Ahmet Mithat Efendi 'nin geçirdiği bu zor günler karakterinin ve kişiliğini şekillendirmiştir. Yaşadığı zorluklar ile kişiliği ve karakteri şekillenen Ahmet Mithat Efendi bu yapısını ailesine de yansıtmıştır. Ahmet Mithat Efendi tarafından etkilenen ailesi Cumhuriyet tarihi boyunca edebiyat dışındaki dallar ve sektörlerde çalışmalar gösterdi. Bazı aile fertleri Ahmet Mithat Efendi'nin maddi ve manevi mirasını sürdürürken ailesinin bazı fertleri ise kendi yollarını çizerek başka dallar ve sektörlerde çalışmışlardır. Bu çalışmada Ahmet Mithat Efendi'nin maddi ve manevi mirasının günümüzdeki durumu ele alınmıştır.
dc.description.abstractAhmet Mithat Efendi is a writer who contrubuted various significant works to Turksih Literature. Both the character and the personality of Ahmet Mithat Efendi shaped by the hard times which he endured since his childhood. Ahmet Mithat Efendi, whose personality and character shaped with the difficulties he experienced, reflected his character and personality to his family. Affected by Ahmet Mithat Efendi, some of the members of his family continued Ahmet Mithat Efendi's tangible and spiritual heritage where some members of his family worked in other branches and sectors by drawing their own way without claiming Ahmet Mithat Efendi's legacy. In this study, we want to do a research on the current situation of Ahmet Mithat Efendi's tangible and spiritual heritage.
