The migration process of the Coşkun family, brought from Rumelia to Giresun during the population exchange between Turkey and Greece following the 1923 Treaty of Lausanne, was fraught with hardships and injustice. This article aims to examine how the Lausanne exchanges preserved their traditions, cultures, and customs within a new society after arriving in Turkey, how these traditions evolved over time, and how they were passed onto future generations, using the Coşkun family as a case study. Additionally, it seeks to explore the social, cultural, and economic impacts of the population exchange on individuals, the causes of identity loss or acquisition, and how effectively the Turkish government managed the exchange process and its aftermath.
