The Bosnian War, which took place between 1992 and 1995, began with the escalation of ethnic and religious tensions in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the dissolution of Yugoslavia and evolved into an international crisis. Born in 1974, Gökhan Oyman describes his youth as "wild" and worked as a driver in various businesses after the age of 18. In 1995, he enlisted for mandatory military service, initially stationed in Erzurum, then Ankara, before being deployed as a United Nations soldier to Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. In Zenica, he both worked as a driver and participated in conflicts. This study examines Oyman's reasons for being in Zenica, his experiences there, and the impact the war had on him. Presenting the Bosnian War from a unique perspective is crucial for a deeper understanding of the conflict.
