dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractMustafa Taviloğlu'nun 1964 yılında Mudo'yu kurmasıyla başlayan bu etki yerli perakende sektörünün hem o dönem içinde hem günümüzde önemli bir gelişim timsali olmuştur. 1960'lı yıllarda Türkiye'de olmayan, parça kumaş boyama ve baskı tişört gibi birçok ürün ve teknik ilk defa Mudo'da satışa sunulmuştur. Yeni reklamcılık kampanyaları ve marka iş birlikleri denenmiş ve bu durum markayı artan bir ivmeyle başarıya götürmüştür ki hâlâ günümüzde varlığını ülkenin birçok yerinde hatta Dubai'de bile devam ettirmektedir. Mustafa Taviloğlu'nun vizyonu, o vizyonun gelişmesine sebep olan etkenler, girişimcilik adımları ve estetik algısı Mudo'yu başarıya götüren başlıca etkenlerdir.en_US
dc.description.abstractFrom its founding by Mustafa Taviloğlu in 1964 to today, Mudo has been the symbol of progress for local retail in Turkey. They used techniques that were not used before, sold garment- washed jeans and printed t-shirts, which were hard to come by in Turkey in the 1960!s. Using new advertisement campaigns and brand collaborations, Mudo accelerated to success which still continues to this day with new stores opening up in Dubai. Mustafa Taviloğlu!s vision, the factors for the development of that vision, steps taken in entrepreneurship and his perception for aesthetic have been key factors in Mudo!s success.en_US
