Türkiye’de mermer sektörünün gelişimi: Turan Bekişoğlu Mermer Fabrikası örneği

Abstract

1960 yılında sıçrama gösteren bir sektör olan mermercilik, hem yurt içinde hem de yurt dışında Türkiye ekonomisine katkı sağlamaktadır. Bu yıllardan itibaren sürekli gelişmekte olan mermer madenciliği ve üretiminde, 1980’den itibaren özel sektör ön planda olmuştur. Türk mermer sektörünün en eski fabrikalarından biri olan Turan Bekişoğlu Mermer Fabrikası mermercilik sektörüne önemli katkılarda bulunmuştur. Bu araştırma, Turan Bekişoğlu Mermer Fabrikası’nın 1957 yılından itibaren kuruluş hikâyesi ve büyüme sürecini, bu süreçte Türkiye mermer sektörünün gelişimini konu almaktadır.

The marble industry, which has shown sharp growth in 1960, contributes greatly to Turkey’s economy both in the country and abroad. After 1980, the private sector has become more prominent in marble mining and production. Turan Bekişoğlu Marble Factory, which is one of the oldest marble factories of Turkey’s marble industry, has been contributing to this sector since the year it was founded by Turan Bekişoğlu. This study narrates the foundation story and growth process of Turan Bekişoğlu Marble Factory from 1957 onwards, and the development of Turkey’s marble industry during those years. This paper also focuses on the contributions of Turan Bekişoğlu Marble Factory to the improvement of the marble industry in Turkey since 1959.
