Türkiye’de gençlik hareketlerinin öncüsü: Millî Türk Talebe Birliği

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, kökleri Cumhuriyet öncesine dayanan Türkiye’nin en eski ve en uzun soluklu gençlik hareketlerinden biri olan Millî Türk Talebe Birliğinin (MTTB) yıllar içerisinde yaşadığı fikirsel değişiklikler, düzenlediği etkinlikler, toplum gözündeki yeri ve Türkiye siyasi hayatına etkileri incelenmiştir. MTTB’nin tarihi, Türk siyasetinde yaşanmış belli başlı olaylar doğrultusunda üç ana döneme bölünmüş ve bu siyasi olaylar ışığında, sebep sonuç bağları kurularak açıklanmaya ve yorumlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırma, birliğin kuruluşundan 12 Eylül askerî darbesine kadar olan geniş bir süreci kapsasa da araştırmanın asıl amacı birliğin ideolojik açıdan milliyetçi çizgiden muhafazakâr ve İslamcı çizgiye geçişini anlamak ve irdelemek olmuştur. Ayrıca bu ideolojik değişikliğin ardından MTTB bünyesinden çıkan ve günümüz siyasetinde önemli roller üstlenen birçok figürün bulunması bu araştırmanın geçmiş ile bugün arasında bir bağlantı kurmasını sağlamıştır.

In this study, the intellectual changes that the Turkish National Student Union (MTTB), one of Turkey's earliest-established and longest-running youth movements with roots dating back to the pre-Republican period, has experienced over the years, the activities it has organized, its place in the eyes of society and its effects on Turkish political life are examined. The history of MTTB is divided into three main periods in line with the major events in Turkish politics, and in the light of these political events, this history is tried to be explained and interpreted by establishing cause and effect links. Although the research covers a wide period of time from the establishment of the union until the military coup of September 12, the main purpose of the research was to understand and examine the ideological transition of the union from the nationalist line to the conservative and Islamist line. In addition, the fact that there are many figures who emerged from MTTB after this ideological change and who have assumed important roles in today's politics has enabled this research to establish a connection between the past and the present.
