History of the first skyscraper in Turkey: Emek İşhanı

Abstract

Emek İşhanı is a familiar building standing in the heart of Kızılay, Ankara that existed in a large portion of the modern history of Turkey. As seemingly important as it is, many of the recent generation are not very well informed about Emek İşhanı. To provide information about the history of Emek İşhanı, we've conducted research on many aspects about the building from its practical and political function to the significant events that are associated with the building. Emek İşhanı başkent Ankara'nın merkezi olan Kızılay da modernitenin göstergesi olarak inşaa edilmiştir. Yeni nesil emek işhanı ve geçmişi ile ilgili pek fazla bilgiye sahip değil. Biz yapıyla ilgili bilgi sahibi olmak için binanın pratik ve politik işlevlerinden, bina ile ilişkili önemli olaylara kadar birçok konuda araştırma yaptık.
