dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractİtalyan mutfağı Dünya’nın her yerinde tanınan ve benimsenen köklü bir mutfak kültürüdür. Bu yönüyle birçok kültürü etkilemiş ve bu kültürlerde iz bırakmıştır. Bu projede ise İtalyan yemek kültürünün Türk yemek kültürüne olan etkisi, Türk damak tadına göre yeniden şekillenmesi ve Türk halkının İtalyan yemek kültürüne alışma sürecindeki etkenler araştırılmıştır. Araştırma, Türkiye’de 25 yılı aşkın süredir başarıyla ayakta kalmış olan İtalyan restoranı Mezzaluna üzerinden yürütüldü.en_US
dc.description.abstractItalian cuisine is a well-known culinary that is adopted all over the world. In this respect, it has influenced many cultures and left traces in these cultures. In this project, the effect of Italian culinary on Turkish food culture, its adaptation according to Turkish taste, and the factors in the process of Turkish people getting used to Italian cuisine were investigated. In the context of research, the Italian restaurant Mezzaluna which has successfully remained standing for over 25 years in Turkey is analyzed as a sample.en_US
