Afşin-Elbistan Termik Santralinin insan sağlığına ve doğaya olan etkileri

Abstract

Afşin-Elbistan A Termik Santrali 1984 yılında Çoğulhan mahallesinde kurulmuştur. 2006 yılında ise termik santralin B ünitesinin yapım aşaması tamamlanmıştır. Bugün her iki ünite de çalışmaya devam etmektedir. Araştırmada A santralinin çevre ve insan sağlığı üzerindeki etkileri incelenmiştir. Santral bacalarından NO2 ve SO2 gazlarının salınımının çevreye ve insan sağlığına etkileri mevcuttur. Kurulduğu günden bu yana termik santral Çoğulhan bölgesinde yaşayan insanlarda görülen çeşitli sağlık sorunlarıyla ilişkilendirilmiştir. Araştırmada ise bu sağlık sorunları istatistiklere dayanarak ortaya konulmuştur ve alınan önlemler ele alınmıştır. Afşin-Elbistan A Thermal Power Plant was established in 1984 in Çoğulhan district. In 2006, the construction phase of the B unit of the thermal power plant was completed. Both units continue to operate today. In the study, the effects of plant A on the environment and human health were examined. The emission of NO2 and SO2 gases from the power plant chimneys occurs and the emission of these gases constitutes the effects of the plant on the environment and human health. Since its establishment, the thermal power plant has been associated with various health problems in people living in the Çoğulhan region. In the study, these health problems were presented based on statistics and the measures taken were discussed.
