dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractÖğretmen okulları uzun yıllar boyunca Türk eğitim sisteminin önemli birer parçası olmuşlardır. Söz konusu okulların formatında birçok değişiklik yaşansa da bu araştırma Aksu Öğretmen Okulu örneğinden yola çıkarak öğretmen okullarının incelenmesini amaçlamaktadır. Okulun mezunlarıyla yapılan görüşmeler araştırmaya yön vermiş olup mezunlar tarafından okulun atmosfer, okulda kullanılan öğretim metotları, yaşanan disiplin sorunları ve daha birçok konuya ilişkin bilgi alınmıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractTeacher training schools have been important components of Turkish education system throughout the years. There have been many changes regarding their formations, however, this study aims to analyze teacher training schools based on the example of Aksu Teacher Traninig School in Antalya. Interviews with alumnus guided this research. The sources provided information about the school atmosphere, teaching methods used n the school, discipline problems, and other details.en_US
