dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu makalede 1989 tarihinde Bulgaristan’dan Türkiye’ye göç eden Öztürk ailesinin fertlerinden Fikriye Öztürk, Ahmet Öztürk ve Emine Öztürk Coşkun’un perspektiflerinden 1989 büyük Bulgaristan Göçü ve Öztürk ailesinin yaşadıkları incelenecektir. Öncelikle Öztürk ailesinin göç öncesi Bulgaristan’daki yaşamları incelenecektir. Daha sonra ailenin göç süreci ve yaşadıkları zorluklar ele alınacaktır. Makalenin son kısmında Öztürk ailesinin Türkiye’ye alışma süreçleri ve göçün günümüzdeki etkisi incelenecektir.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn this article, the mass migration of Bulgarian Turks from Bulgaria to Turkey in 1989 will be examined from the perspectives of Fikriye Öztürk, Ahmet Öztürk, Emine Öztürk Coşkun, who were part of the migration in 1989. First, the daily lives of the Öztürk family in Bulgaria pre-migration will be examined. Then, the migration process and the hardships the Öztürk family have encountered during the migration will be analyzed. In the last part of the article, the integration process and ongoing effects of the migration on daily lives of the Öztürk family will be examined.en_US
