This study examines the concept of urban memory in Turkey—what it is and how it can be lost—through the life and works of the artist and sculptor Kuzgun Acar. While exploring this, the study delves into the artistic and intellectual movements that influenced Acar's works and considers the role of their artistic characteristics in their disappearance. The narrative is centered on his two most renowned works, Turkey Relief and Birds, using these as a foundation to clearly highlight the significance of these pieces in Turkey's urban memory. Through the unique and specific example of the disappearance of Acar's works, the study discusses how urban memories can fade and how they might be preserved.
