dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstract1938 yılında çıkarılan Beden Terbiyesi Kanunu’nun çıkmasıyla birlikte, 1943 yılında Türkiye Kömür İşletmeleri’ne bağlı Garp Linyitleri İşletmesi’nde çalışan işçilerin eş ve çocukların sportif faaliyetlerde bulunması amacı ile TKİ Tavşanlı Linyitspor Kulübü kurulmuş ve 1945 yılında kulüp faaliyetlerine başlamıştır. TKİ Tavşanlı Linyitspor, zaman içinde kendini geliştirmiş ve Türkiye liglerinde birçok başarıya imza atarak hem Tavşanlı’nın ismini Türkiye’ye duyurmuş hem de Tavşanlı ilçesine birçok katkıda bulunmuştur. Bu çalışmada, kulübün seneler içinde nasıl bu kadar büyüyüp, geliştiği, esas amacına ulaşıp ulaşamadığı ve Tavşanlı ilçesi üzerindeki etkileri anlatılmıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractAs a result of the enactment of the Code of Physical Education in 1938, TKİ Tavşanlı Linyitspor Club was founded in 1943 with the purpose of the Garp Linyitleri Institution`s workers` wives and children to engage in sports activities and it began its services. In time, Tavşanlı Linyitspor has improved itself and by its many successes in the Turkish football leagues, it has managed to present the name of Tavşanlı to Turkey and also to contribute to the district it was founded in which is Tavşanlı. This study will explain how the club has improved and enlarged itself throughout the years, whether it has managed to reach its main goal and the impact it has over the Tavşanlı district.en_US
