dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST209) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu araştırma, ABCFM organizasyonunun misyoneri Charlotte R. Willard'ı anlatıyor. Arkadaşlarının ve meslektaşlarının hatıraları, kendi notları ve tarihsel kayıtları da dahil olmak üzere çoğunlukla birincil kaynaklardan yararlanır. Daha önce Charlotte R. Willard'dan yapılan bir çok araştırma, Merzifon'daki Anadolu Koleji'nin gelişimindeki etkisine odaklanmaktadır. Araştırma, Charlotte Willard'ın Türkiye tarihinde farklı dönemlerden görevine devam ettiği ve Kız çocuk Kolejin’den Ermeni kızları sınır dışı edilmekten ve diğer ciddi sonuçlardan kurtarıcı bir eylem gerçekleştirdiği bahsediyor. Bu araştırma, Charlotte Willard'ın rolünün ne kadar önemli olduğunu ve yaptığı etkinin ne kadar inanılmaz olduğunu gösteriyor.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis research looks at the ABCFM organization's missionary- Charlotte R. Willard. It draws mostly upon primary sources including memories of her friends and colleagues, her own notes, and historical records. Most prior research on Charlotte R. Willard focuses on her impact in the development of Anatolia College in Merzifon. The research talks about different periods in the history of Turkey, during which Charlotte Willard continued her mission and made a heuristic act saving Armenian girls from Girls' College from deportation and other serious consequences. This research paper shows how important Charlotte Willard's role was and how incredible the impact she made was.en_US
