The impact of TÜBİTAK on Turkish society since its establishment in 1963

Abstract

Since its establishment in 1963, TÜBİTAK, known as The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye, has played a significant role in shaping Turkish society through scientific research centers, innovations, and technological developments. The organization played a key role in the development of research infrastructure, support of ST (Science and Technology), and the formation of scientific culture. Moreover, TÜBİTAK made a crucial contribution in strategic sectors, such as energy, healthcare, and military defense, and even actively promoted Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education and the popularization of science among a widespread community. Türkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Araştırma Kurumu olarak bilinen TÜBİTAK, kurulduğu 1963 yılından bu yana bilimsel araştırma merkezleri, yenilikler ve teknolojik gelişmeler yoluyla Türk toplumunun şekillenmesinde önemli bir rol oynamıştır. Kurum, araştırma altyapısının geliştirilmesinde, BM'nin (Bilim ve Teknoloji) desteklenmesinde ve bilimsel kültürün oluşturulmasında kilit rol oynamıştır. TÜBİTAK ayrıca enerji, sağlık ve askeri savunma gibi stratejik sektörlere de önemli katkılarda bulunmuş, STEM eğitimini ve bilimin geniş kitlelere yayılmasını aktif bir şekilde desteklemiştir.
