dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractİstanbul Devlet Opera ve Balesi (İDOBALE), Türk sanatında önde gelen kurumlardandır. İsmail Hakkı Aksu, kurum bünyesinde uzun süre boyunca farklı çalışmalar yürütmüş bir sanatçıdır. Kendisinin kuruma verdiği hizmetler arasında ressamlık, fotoğrafçılık, kurum kitaplarının yazarlığı ve kurum arşivini oluşturmak vardır. Çalışma, büyük oranda İDOBALE arşivinin oluşumu ve önemi üzerine gerçekleştirilmiştir. İDOBALE arşivinin yanı sıra çalışma kapsamında Türk opera ve balesinin tarihi, İDOBALE’nin tarihçesi ve İsmail Hakkı Aksu’nun arşiv dışındaki çalışmaları da incelenmiştir. Bu incelemelerin ana amacı, Aksu’nun arşivinin aktarılmasının öncesinde Türk opera ve balesi, İDOBALE ve İsmail Hakkı Aksu hakkında gerekli altyapının oluşturulmasıdır.
dc.description.abstractİstanbul State Opera ve Ballet (IDOBALE) is one of the most essential and leading institutions in Turkish art. İsmail Hakkı Aksu is an artist who has worked in various fields in the institution. He took charge of being a painter, photographer, writer for the books of the institution, and lastly creator of the IDOBALE archive. This research is mainly focused on the archive made by İsmail Hakkı Aksu about IDOBALE and the archive’s importance. Aside from the archive of IDOBALE, Turkish opera and ballet history, IDOBALE’s history and İsmail Hakkı Aksu’s other works are also elaborately analyzed. The main goal of research is to give background to IDOBALE’s archive through Turkish opera and ballet, IDOBALE and İsmail Hakkı Aksu in general.
