Başkent Tiyatrosu ve Mehmet Tahir İkiler

Abstract

Bu araştırma usta tiyatro oyuncusu ve yazarı Mehmet Tahir İkiler'in hayatını ve Başkent Tiyatrosu'nun kuruluş ve gelişimini ele almaktadır. Konservatuar eğitimi almayıp, ailesiyle bu mesleğe girmiş olan İkiler çocukluk döneminden beri sahne yaşamının içerisindedir. İlk sahnesini ise on altı yaşında Mersin'de ailesinin tiyatrosunda almıştır. 1994 yılında Melih Gökçek'in teklifiyle Başkent Tiyatrosu'nu kurmuştur.Kuruluşundan beri Necip Fazıl gibi usta bir isme olan hayranlığından dolayı başta Bir Adam Yaratmak olmak üzere onun oyunlarını oynamıştır. Ayrıca çocuk tiyatrolarına önem vermiştir. İkiler, yirmi beş yıllık bir başarı serüveninin içinde yer almıştır ve 2019 yılında Başkent Tiyatrosu'ndaki işinden emekli olmuştur. This research paper which discusses the life of Mehmet Tahir İkiler and his major success Başkent Theatre, is prepared in context of HIST200 course of Bilkent University. İkiler,who worked oneself into this profession with his family without having conservatory education,is inside this onstage life since his childhood years. He debuted in Mersin with his family's theatre when he was sixteen. Ever since the establishment of the theatre, because of his admiration for Necip Fazıl, he played Necip Fazıl's plays, particularly, Bir Adam Yaratmak. Besides, he attached importance to children's play. İkiler, was in the swim of a success adventure of twenty five years and he retires from his job in Başkent Theatre in 2019.
