dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractMedya, haber ve bilgi akışında hayati bir role sahip olup toplumun haber alma, bilgi edinme ve fikirleri paylaşma süreçlerinde büyük bir öneme sahiptir. Show TV, Türkiye'de medya alanına farklı bir boyut kazandıran ve kitlelerle etkileşim sağlayan bir televizyon kanalıdır. Kanal, bilgilendirme amacının yanı sıra eğlendirme, farklı vizyonlar sunma ve eğitici içeriklerle demokratik düşünce ve sorgulama yeteneklerinin güçlendirilmesine katkıda bulunmaktadır. Show TV, sunduğu çeşitli programlar aracılığıyla toplumun kendisini değerli hissetmesini sağlamış ve Türk televizyonculuğunda önemli bir rol oynamıştır. Kanalın kuruluşu, gelişimi ve etkileri, Türk televizyonculuğu için önemli bir dönüm noktası olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bu araştırma, Show TV'nin kuruluşundan gelişimine ve Türk televizyonculuğuna olan katkılarına odaklanmış ve çeşitli kaynaklardan elde edilen bilgilerle desteklenmiştir.
dc.description.abstractThe media has a vital role in the flow of news and information and has a great importance in the society's processes of getting news, acquiring information and sharing ideas. Show TV is a television channel that brings a different dimension to the media field in Turkey and interacts with the masses. In addition to its purpose of informing, the channel contributes to the strengthening of democratic thinking and questioning skills through entertaining, presenting different visions and educational content. Show TV has made the society feel valuable through its various programs and has played an important role in Turkish television broadcasting. The establishment, development and effects of the channel are considered as an important turning point for Turkish television broadcasting. This research focused on the establishment of Show TV, its development and contributions to Turkish television broadcasting, and was supported by information obtained from various sources
