dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu proje kapsamında, Türkçesi “koşarak hedef bulma” olan Oryantiring sporunun Türkiyeye gelişini ve ilerlemesi incelenecektir. İlk olarak Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri vasıtasıyla ülkemize gelen oryantiring, o dönemki öncülerden bir kişi ile röportaj yapılarak bu sürece giriş yapılacaktır. 1990-2000 yılları arasında bu konuyla ilgili yazılı kaynakların da bu dönemi desteklemesi düşünülmektedir. İkincil olarak Oryantiring Federasyonunun nasıl kurulduğu, diğer federasyonlardan nasıl özerkleştiği ve günümüzdeki haline nasıl geldiği hem zamanında federasyonda görev almış kişilerden hem de çeşitli gazete ve belgesellerle geniş bir perspektiften incelenecektir. Son olarak ise Oryantiring Federasyonunun günümüzdeki konumu, büyüklük ve kapsamı, kulüp bazında ve bireysel bazda neler yapıldığı ilgili kişilerle röportaj sağlanarak kayıt altına alınacaktır.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis paper examines the history and current progress of orienteering in Turkey. Orienteering has come to Turkey via the Turkish Military. Therefore, the introduction part will be written by interviewing one of the pioneers of that period. To support the ideas, the written sources about this topic that originated in the 1990s will be reviewed to support the statements. After that, how the Turkish Orienteering Federation was founded, how it got its independence from superior federations, and how it has become its current shape will be investigated from a broad perspective by interviewing people who have worked back then and by searching a variety of newspaper archives and documentaries. Lastly, the importance, extent, and work will be recorded by interviewing related contacts.en_US
