dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstract1969 yılında Libya'da Kaddafi ve subay arkadaşları tarafından bir darbe gerçekleştirilmiş ve yönetime el konulmuştur. Bu darbe sonrasında Libya'da pek çok reforma gidilmiş, yapılan reformlar ile birlikte Libya'nın toplumsal, siyasal ve ekonomik durumunda pek çok değişiklikler yaşanmıştır. Ayrıca, bu darbe ile birlikte Türkiye-Libya arasındaki ilişkilerde de değişimler olmuştur. Bu makalede, 1974 yılında Türk Büyükelçiliğinde Başkatip olarak görev yapan Ali Arsın'ın gözünden darbe sonrasında Libya'nın siyasi, ekonomik, toplumsal durumları ve Türkiye Libya arasındaki ilişkiler açıklanmıştır.
dc.description.abstractIn 1969, a bloodless coup was made by Qaddafi and his fellow officers in Libya and the government was seized. After the coup, many reforms have been made in Libya and with those reforms, many changes have been experienced in the social, political and economic situations of Libya. Also, the relationship between Turkey and Libya has changed after Qaddafi's coup. In this article, after Qaddafi's coup, political, social, economic situations of Libya and the relationship between Turkey and Libya are explained from the perspective of Ali Arsın who was the head clerk in the Turkish Embassy in Libya.
