dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractBu çalışmada Türkiye'de şehir ve bölge planlama disiplinlerinin gelişimine önemli katkılarda bulunan Prof. Dr. İlhan Tekeli'nin erken yaşamından başlayarak akademik kariyerine, değerli çalışmalarına ve katıldığı projelere geniş bir perspektiften bakılacaktır. İlhan Tekeli şehir ve bölge planlama alanında Türkiye'de ve uluslararası düzeyde önemli akademik katkılarıyla beraber çalışmalarının tarih, ekonomi ve politika gibi çeşitli disiplinler arası perspektif içermesi ve sosyal bilimler alanına olan geniş katkılarıyla değerli bir akademisyendir. Genel olarak, bu çalışmada İlhan Tekeli'nin akademik ve profesyonel hayatı üzerine kapsamlı bir inceleme yapılacak ve hayatı, çalışmaları ve düşünceleri aktarılacaktır.
dc.description.abstractThis study will provide a broad perspective on the significant contributions of Prof. Dr. İlhan Tekeli to the development of urban and regional planning disciplines in Turkey, starting from his early life, academic career, valuable works, and the projects he has participated in. İlhan Tekeli is a distinguished academic with significant contributions to urban and regional planning in Turkey and internationally. His works incorporate interdisciplinary perspectives such as history, economics, and politics, and he makes extensive contributions to the field of social sciences. This study will comprehensively examine İlhan Tekeli's academic and professional life, conveying his life, works, and thoughts.
