dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu makale, sekiz çocuklu bir ailenin çocuğu olarak dünyaya gelen Naim Ünal’ın Burdur'un Antalya'ya en yakın ilçesi olan Bucak'tan başlayan ve Antalya’ya uzanan hikâyesini konu almaktadır. Naim Ünal, küçük yaşta ailesine destek olmak için sanayi bölgesinde çalışmaya başladı. Sandık çakarak başladığı iş hayatı, dönemin istikrarsız siyasi yapısı ve ekonomik krizler ile birçok farklı sektörde girişimler yapmasına zemin oluşturdu. Taşımacılık yaptığı dönemde yurtdışı ve yurtiçinde gözlemlediği ancak kendi büyüdüğü bölgede eksik gördüğü boşlukları doldurmaya yönelik girişimlerde bulundu. Ülkedeki krizlerden de faydalanarak yaptığı girişimlerle işlerini büyüterek Antalya'da şirketleşti.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn this research project, Naim Ünal and his journey which begins from Bucak, which is Burdur’s closest district to Antalya, and expands to Antalya will be examined. He is the second of eight children born to his family. At a very young age, he started working at the industrial zone of the town to support his family. With the unstable political environment and economic crisis of the period, there have been many opportunities offered in various areas. During the period where he traveled across cities and countries, he recognized the shortfall of his own environment and he bridged these gaps through his enterprises. By turning crises into opportunities, he incorporated his businesses in Antalya.en_US
