dc.description | The History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards. | en_US |

dc.description.abstract | Türkiye’de tek kullanımlık tıraş bıçakları ergonomikliği sayesinde çok tutuldu. Piyasaya giriş yapan Gillette markası uzun süre tek el konumundaydı. Gillette markası ardından PermaSharp ve Derby markaları piyasaya giriş yapıp pazar payına sahip oldular. Satışları arttırmaya yönelik reklam kampanyaları arasından Derby markasının yaratıcı reklamları öne çıktı. Markalar arası rekabet davalar ve anlaşmazlıkları beraberinde getirdi. Davalar esnasında yayılan rüşvet iddiaları sonuçsuz kaldı ve Derby markası piyasaya yüzde elli fiyat kırarak giriş yaptı. Günümüzde Türkiye’de hala tek kullanımlık tıraş bıçakları tercih ediliyor. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | In Turkey, disposable razors are in high demand due to their ergonomic structure. Razor brand Gillette entered Turkey's market and maintained its presence as the only razor brand in Turkey for a long time. As other brands Perma-Sharp and Derby entered the market, they got market share with Gillette. Among the commercials which were intended to raise sale rates, the creative commercials of Derby were on the spot. The fierce competition between these brands brought with suitcases and arguments. The allegations about bribes could not be proven and Derby threw their goods on the market with a 50% discount. In Turkey, disposable razors are still used by consumers. | en_US |
