dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractŞarabın hammaddesi olan üzüm eski çağlardan beri Anadolu’da üretilmiştir. Doğu Anadolu illerinden olan Elazığ ilinin yöresinde yetişen Öküzgözü ve Boğazkere üzümleri de şarap üretiminde hammadde olarak kullanılan üzümlerdir. Elazığ için önemli değerler olarak görülen bu üzümlerden şarap üretimine Cumhuriyet Döneminde de 1946 yılında kurulan Elazığ Şarap Fabrikası sayesinde devam edilmiştir. Bu araştırmada 1970-1980 yılları arasında Elazığ Şarap Fabrikasında müdürlük yapmış Dursun Öz ve 1999-2011 yılları arasında Kavaklıdere Şarapları A.Ş.’de ticaret ve satış direktörlüğü yapmış Devran Aksungur’un röportajlarına ulaşılmaktadır. Araştırma kapsamında Elazığ ili şaraplarının, şarap fabrikasının tarihi, bu şarapların oluşturduğu kültür ve Elazığ iline olan etkileri anlatılmaktadır.en_US
dc.description.abstractGrape, which is the raw material of wine, has been grown in Anatolia since the old ages. Öküzgözü and Boğazkere grapes, which are grown in one of the cities in Dogu Anadolu, Elazığ, are two of the grapes that are used in wine production. Thanks to Elazığ Şarap Fabrikası, which is founded in 1946, the wine production from these two grapes, which are seen as important values for Elazığ, has continued. In this research, interviews with Dursun Öz, who was a manager at Elazığ Şarap Fabrikası between 1970 and 1980, and Devran Aksungur, who was trading and sales manager at Kavaklıdere Şarapları A.Ş. between years 1999 and 2011, can be reached. In the scope of the research, city of Elazığ’s wines’, wine factory’s history, culture, which is created by the wines, and the wines ’effect to Elazığ.en_US
