dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractZeki Müren 6 Aralık 1931 tarihinde doğdu. İlk şarkısı olan "Zehretme Hayatı Bana Cananım" ı bestelediğinde 17 yaşındaydı. Müzik eğitimine Bursa'da başlayan Zeki Müren İstanbul'da okurken çeşitli sinema sanatçılarından aldığı derslerle bu eğitimine devam etti. Sinema kariyerine 1954'te "Beklenen Şarkı" ile giriş yaptı. Zeki Müren 600'ü aşkın kaset ve plak doldurdu, toplamda 21 albüm yayınladı ve yine toplamda 18 filmde oynadı. 1955'te Altın Plak Ödülü'nü, 1973'te En İyi Erkek Solist Ödülünü kazandı. Zeki Müren, son konserini ise 1984'te Bodrum Kalesi'nde verdi. 24 Eylül 1996 yılında TRT' nin İzmir Radyosu Stüdyolarındaki canlı yayında kalp yetmezliği sonucu hayatını kaybetti.
dc.description.abstractZeki Müren was born on 6 December 1931. He was 17 when he composed his first song "Zehretme Hayatı Bana Cananım". He started his music education in Bursa and continued in İstanbul while taking courses from acting instructors. He started his acting career in 1954 with "Beklenen Şarkı". Zeki Müren recorded over 600 records, cassettes, released 21 albums and played in 18 films. He won "Golden Record Award" in 1955 and "Best Male Solo Singer Award" in 1973. He gave his last concert in 1984 in the Castle of Bodrum. He died from heart failure while doing a live show in İzmir Radio Studios of TRT on 24 September 1996.
