Kenter tiyatrosu tarihi ve Türk tiyatro tarihindeki yeri

Cumhuriyet Dönemi Türk Tiyatroculuğu sefalet içinde geçmiştir ve zorlu bir savaş döneminin beraberinde getirdiği yoksulluğa rağmen farklı sanat dallarının gelişimi için çaba gösterilmiştir. Bu sanat dallarının arasında tiyatro önemli bir yere sahiptir ve Cumhuriyetin ilanından sonra 20 yıl içinde yurt dışından davet edilen sanatçılarla ve yabancı tiyatro eserlerinin çevrilmesiyle Türk Tiyatroculuğunda ilerleme sağlanmıştır. Bu dönemin akabinde çeşitli özel tiyatro oluşumları görülmektedir ve dönemin tiyatrosunu önemli bir derecede etkileyen Kenter Tiyatrosu göze çarpmaktadır. Küçüklüğünden beri tiyatroya ilgisi olan Yıldız Kenter uzun uğraşlar sonucu ailesini ikna edip konservatuara girmiş ve bu şekilde çok sevdiği tiyatroya ilk adımını atmıştır. Kardeşi Müşfik Kenter de onun yolundan gidip tiyatroyla tanıştıktan sonra, günümüzde Kenter kardeşler olarak anılan hem yurtdışında hep Türkiye’de başarılı oyuncular olarak tarihe isimlerini yazdırmışlardır. Yıldız Kenter ve Müşfik Kenter dönemin zorluklarına rağmen tiyatroyu bırakmamış ve kurdukları topluluk “Kent Oyuncuları” ile kendi sahneleri olmadığı için bir süre çeşitli toplulukların sahnelerinde rol almışlardır. Kent Oyuncuları önce Site Tiyatrosuna ortak olup, “Site Oyuncuları” adı altında oyunlarını sergilemişler, sonra Site Tiyatrosundaki imkansızlıklar sebebiyle Karaca Tiyatrosuna geçip “Kent Oyuncuları” adı altında sahne almışlardır. özel bir tiyatro olmalarının getirdiği maddi sıkıntılara rağmen Harbiye’deki “Kenter Tiyatrosu” adı altındaki kendi binalarını satın almışlardır. Sergilenecek oyunları seçerken hem yerli hem de yabancı oyunlara yer vermişler ve bazı eleştirmenler tarafından eleştirilseler de seyirciden olumlu tepkiler almışlardır. Kenter Tiyatrosu, yaşanılan zorluklara rağmen elde ettiği başarılarla ve seyirciyi farklı oyunlarla tanıştırmasıyla Türk Tiyatro Tarihinde önemli bir iz bırakmış ve gelecek tiyatro topluluklarına bir örnek olmuştur.

Republic-Period-Turkish-Dramatics has passed in misery and despite the poverty due to unrecovered harsh war times, there have been investments for the various branches of art. Dramatics has an important place among those branches of art and,in the 20-year period after the declaration of Republic, dramatics has been progressed further by hosting the foreign artists in our country and translating the foreign works into Turkish. After this period, there has seen the formation of private theaters and Kenter Theater could be seen as one of the most appealing one among them. Yıldız Kenter, who has been interested in dramatics since her childhood, has attended to consevatory after she has convinced her parents and has had her first professional step into dramatics. Her brother Müşfik Kenter has followed the same path and through that, they have put their stamp on history as one the most successful dramatics players -who are known as Kenter Siblings- both in Turkey and abroad. Yıldız Kenter and Müşfik Kenter has not given up on dramatics, despite of the difficulties of the period and, they have played with various stages for a while with their own union known as “Kent Oyuncuları”, since they have not had their own theater yet. At first, Kent Oyuncuları has taken the partnership of Site Theater and, they have played on stage under the name of “Site Oyuncuları”, then due to some difficulties in Site Theater, they have moved on to Karaca theater and played on stage under the name of “Kent Oyuncuları”. Though the economic problems in regard to become a private theater, they have bought their own building in Harbiye and named it as Kenter Theater. They have acted both local and foreign plays and although they have been critized by critics, they have been appreciated by audiences. Kenter Theater has even been an example for today’s dramatics as well.
