dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractDernekler birçok farklı amaca hizmet etmek için kurulabilir. Bu yüzden kurulan her derneğin bir amacı, misyonu ve vizyonu olmalıdır. Dernekler bir toplumun refahını artırıp sosyokültürel ve sosyoekonomik yapısını geliştirir. Ayrıca kurulduğu toplum içerisinde birlik beraberliği ve dayanışmayı artırır. Türkiye’de 1924 Anayasası ile ilk defa tamamen güvence altına alınan dernek kurma özgürlüğü ile kurulan dernek sayısı hızla artmıştır. Adı pek duyulmasa da 1937 yılında Ankara’da kurulan Galatasaraylılar Birliği Derneği Türkiye’de 1924 Anayasası’ndan sonra kurulmuş önemli derneklerden biridir. Galatasaray Lisesi mezunları tarafından kurulan bu dernek sadece liseye hizmet etmekle kalmayıp Türkiye’deki birçok yardıma muhtaç öğrenciye yardım eli uzatmaktadır. Kurulduğu günden bugüne birçok zorlukla karşılaşan Galatasaraylılar Birliği Derneği günümüzde hâlen varlığını sürdürmektedir.en_US
dc.description.abstractAssociations can be established to serve many different purposes. Therefore, every association established must have a purpose, mission and vision. Associations increase the well-being of a society and improve its sociocultural and socioeconomic structure. It also increases unity and solidarity in the society in which it is founded. The number of associations established in Turkey with the freedom to form associations, which were fully guaranteed for the first time by the 1924 Constitution, has increased rapidly. Although its name is hardly heard, the Association of Galatasaray Association, founded in Ankara in 1937, is one of the important associations established after the 1924 Constitution in Turkey. Founded by Galatasaray High School graduates, this association not only serves the high school, but also gives a helping hand to many needy students in Turkey. Galatasaraylılar Birliği Derneği, which has faced many difficulties since its inception, still exists today.en_US
