dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractAdana Milli Mensucat Fabrikası, kurulduğu 1906 senesinden 2000 senesine kadar neredeyse bir asır boyunca Türkiye ekonomisine çok büyük katkılar sağlamıştır. özellikle ilk kurulduğu senelerde, Türkiye ekonomisinin temellerinin atılmasında önemli bir yere sahip olduğu araştırmalar sonucunda görülmüştür. Osmanlı Devleti’nin son zamanlarında kurulan fabrikanın bu dönemdeki tarihine, önemine ve ayrıca Cumhuriyet Dönemi’ndeki ilerleyişine ve geçirdiği evrelere ışık tutulmaya çalışılmıştır. Fabrikanın ayrıca sadece üretime önem vermeyip ayrıca üretimde büyük emekleri olan işçilerine gösterdiği ayrıcalıklar yapılan araştırmalar sonucu görülmüştür. Buna ek olarak kendi futbol takımını kurup amatör kümede mücadele eden Adana Milli Mensucat Fabrikası yine burada çalışmış Orhan Kemal’ in romanlarında yer edinmiştir. Son olarak, günümüzdeki son durumuna değinilip, bundan sonraki süreçte fabrikanın ne olarak Adana’da varlığına devam edeceği araştırılmıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractAdana National Textile Factory, founded in 1906 until 2000, has made enormous contributions to Turkey's economy for a century. Especially in the first years of the establishment of the foundations of Turkey's economy it has seen the results of his research have an important place. It was tried to shed light on the history of the factory which was founded in the last days of the Ottoman Empire, its importance and also its progress in the Republican Period. As a result of the researches made, it is seen that the factory does not only pay attention to production but also gives great privileges to its employees. In addition, the Adana National Mensucat Factory, which has established its own soccer team and had played in the amateur league, has also been featured in Orhan Kemal's novels. Finally, it is investigated how the factory will continue to exist in Adana in the future.en_US
