dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractAnkara'nın Kızılcahamam ilçesinde bulunan Taşlıca köyü yüzyıllar boyunca pek çok farklı medeniyete ev sahipliği yapmış olan önemli bir köydür. Sırasıyla Bizans, Selçuklu ve Osmanlı devletine ait olan bu köy gerek tarihi gerek doğal zenginlikleri gerek efsaneleriyle de tarihi ve kültürel açıdan zengin bir köydür. Türkiye'nin yüz ölçümü olarak büyük çoğunluğunu oluşturan Anadolu ismi de bu köyden çıkmıştır. Gelin Kayası olarak bilinen efsane de bu köyden çıkmıştır ki hala etkileri köyde devam etmektedir. Bu çalışmada, köy muhtarı, köyün önemli ailelerinden birine mensup olan Narin Arıöz, Taşlıca köylülerinden Ali Gökmen ve yazılı kaynaklar ile köyün tarihi, köyün şu anki durumu ve efsaneleri anlatılmıştır.
dc.description.abstractTaşlıca village, located in Kızılcaham district of Ankara, is an important village that has hosted many different civilizations for centuries. This village, which belongs to Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman states respectively, is historically and culturally rich with its natural form and legends. Anatolian name which refers to most of Turkey in terms of surface has been given in this village. The legend, known as Gelin Kayası, came out of this village, which still continues its effects in the village. In this study, history of Taşlıca, the current situation of Taşlıca and legends will be described with the help of the village's reeve, Narin Arıöz who is a member of one of the most important families in Taşlıca, Taşlıca villager Ali Gökmen and the written sources.
