In the 15th century’s Renaissance, the art of ballet rised. By the 16th century, it had reached the Ottoman territories and found itself in the Ottoman palaces. The path for ballet in Turkey was further paved with the establishment of the Musiki Muallim Mektebi by Atatürk; however, the original starting point is considered to be the Yeşilköy Ballet School founded by Dame Ninette de Valois in 1948. Hülya Aksular is one of the distinguished artists born from this school and its ballet culture. By holding the title of the youngest prima ballerina and participating in numerous successful productions, Aksular has her name written with golden letters in the history of Turkish ballet. In this context, this study examines the life, professional development, and impactful career of Hülya Aksular. Following a brief overview of Turkish ballet history, the focus will shift to Aksular's journey within this history and her contributions.
