dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractHacettepe Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi, Türkiye’de diş hekimliği eğitimi veren ikinci okul olarak 1963 yılında Ankara'da kurulmuştur. Hacettepe Diş Hekimliği Yüksekokulu adı ile kurulan kurum, 1971 yılında Hacettepe Üniversitesinin resmi olarak kurulmasından dört yıl sonra fakülte niteliği kazanmıştır. Bu araştırmada Hacettepe Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesinin kuruluşu, gelişimi ve günümüzdeki eğitim metodolojisi incelenmiştir. Ayrıca, fakültenin ilk mezunlarından Prof. Dr. Kenan Araz'ın anlatımıyla üniversitenin diş hekimliği alanındaki ilk yılları da ele alınmıştır. Fakültenin genel tarihçesi, anabilim dallarının tarihi ve eğitim kadrosu hakkında verilen bilgilerle çeşitlendirilmiştir.
dc.description.abstractHacettepe Faculty of Dentistry was founded in Ankara in 1963 as the second school providing dentistry education in Turkey. The institution, established under the name of Hacettepe College of Dentistry, gained faculty status four years after the official establishment of Hacettepe University in 1971. In this research, the establishment, development and current education system of Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry were examined. In addition, the first years of the university in the field of dentistry are discussed, with the narration of Kenan Araz, one of the first graduates of the faculty. The general history of the faculty is diversified with information about the history of the departments and the teaching staff.
