| dc.description | The History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards. | en_US |

Kendisi gerek şarkılarıyla gerekse de politik duruşuyla, hem bir kesimin sevgisini kazanırken aynı zamanda da bazı kesimlerin ciddi tepkileri ile karşılaşmıştır. Bu tepkiler sonucunda sık sık televizyonda yasaklanmış, albümleri toplatılmış, yurt dışına seyahat etmesi engellenmiştir. | dc.description.abstract | In our country where singing has been traditionally seen as a job only for men, Selda Bağcan is one of the most successful artist who has a very long-lasting career. While she gained the love of some people with her strong personality and songs, she also received negative reaction from other people at the same time. As a result of this she is often banned from TV, her records have been collected and her passport was seized. Beside Selda Bağcan’s life, social structure of 1970-1990 era in Turkey is also mentioned in this research. | en_US |
