Siyasette renkli bir kişilik: Ahmet Esat Kıratlıoğlu

Abstract

Ahmet Esat Kıratlıoğlu, 1930 yılında Nevşehir’de doğmuştur. Avusturya'da Graz Üniversitesi Jeoloji Fakültesi'ni bitirip doktorasını yaptıktan sonra Türkiye’ye dönerek İller Bankası genel müdürlüğü görevine atanmıştır. 1963 yılında halkın ısrarı ile Nevşehir Belediye Başkanı (AP) seçilmiştir ve bu siyasete attığı ilk adım olarak bilinmektedir. İlerleyen yıllarda Süleyman Demirel ‘in başında olduğu hükümette bakanlık ve milletvekilliği yapmıştır.12 Eylül 1980 askeri darbesiyle milletvekilliği ve bakanlığı son bulmuş gibi gözükse de siyasal yasakların kalkmasından sonra kurulan DYP içinde yer almış ve genel seçimlerde tekrar Nevşehir milletvekili olarak seçilmiştir. Evli ve üç çocuk babası olan Kıratlıoğlu siyasete olan yaklaşımı ve hayat tarzıyla adından çokça bahsettirmiş ve Türkiye siyasetine büyük katkılarda bulunmuştur. Ahmet Esat Kıratlıoğlu was born in Nevşehir in the year of 1930. After graduating from the Graz University of Technology, Geology Department, and completing his doctorate, he went back to Turkey. In Turkey, he was assigned to a job at ILBANK Headquarters. In 1963, he has been elected as Nevşehir city mayor due to the insistence of the public and this is considered as his first step into politics. In the later years, he served as a minister and as a member of the parliament in the government which was led by Süleyman Demirel. Even though it seemed like his career ended after the military coup on 12 September 1980, he joined the DYP which was founded after the annulment of the political banishments. In DYP he was re-elected as a member of the parliament. Kıratlıoğlu, a man who is married and a father to 3 children, made his name mentioned in various aspects with his approach to politics and his lifestyle. He has contributed greatly to the politics of Turkey.
