dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu makalede, Gölbaşı’nda yaşayan Hamit Hayran’ın hayatı ve uğraştığı sanat dalı olan yumurta oyma sanatı anlatıldı. Bu bağlamda, yumurtanın farklı kültürlerdeki anlamı ve yumurta oyma sanatının ortaya çıkışına dair bazı varsayımlar incelendi. Yumurtanın nasıl oyularak bir sanat eseri haline getirildiği araştırılıp bu alanda bilgi verildi. Konuyla ilgili detaylı bilgi almak için Hamit Hayran ile sözlü görüşme yapılıp hem Hayran’ın hayatı hem de yumurta oyma sanatını icra ederken yaşadığı zorluklar ele alındı. Gölbaşı’nda kurulan Yumurta Sanatı Atölyesi’ne gidildi ve konu ile ilgili detaylı bilgi toplandı.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn this article; The life of Hamit Hayran, who lives in Gölbaşı, and the art of egg carving, which is the branch of art he deals with, are explained. In this context, the situation of some handicrafts in Turkey was evaluated and the value of egg carving art among the people was examined. How the egg was carved into a work of art was researched and information was given in this area. In order to get detailed information on the subject, a verbal interview was made with Hamit Hayran, and both his life and the difficulties he experienced while performing the art of egg carving were discussed. The Egg Art Workshop established in Gölbaşı was visited and detailed information about the area was given.en_US
