Burdur Müftüsü Halil Hulusi Efendi

Millî Mücadele Dönemi'nde ülke genelinde olduğu gibi Burdur'da da işgallere tepkiler ve direnişler yaşanmış, halk topraklarını savunmak için işgalci kuvvetlere silahla karşılık vermiştir. Bu mücadelede halkın önde gelenleri, askeri ve idari yetkililerden bazıları halka destek olmuş, bazıları ise halkın direnişine karşı çıkmış ve engellemeye çalışmıştır. Halil Hulusi Efendi (Ermiş), bu yıllarda Burdur Müftüsü olarak görev yapmış ve halkın işgallere karşı silahlı direnişe geçmesini savunmuştur. Halil Efendi, kardeşi Hacı Ahmet Bey ile birlikte Millî Mücadele'ye destek vermiştir. Daha sonra ise Hacı Ahmet Efendi Belediye Reisi, Halil Efendi ise milletvekili seçilerek görevlerine devam etmişlerdir. Fakat Halil Efendi TBMM'nin açılışından iki gün sonra hayatını kaybetmiştir. Halil Efendi'nin Millî Mücadele için icraatlarda bulunduğu bu süreçte hem Türk hem de İtalyan taraflarının faaliyetleri göz önüne alınmalıdır.

During the period of the Turkish resistance after the Great War, as in all corners of the country, the people have resisted the occupation of their lands and have often taken up arms to protect their land. While some government and military officials tried to hinder the resistance and favoured occupation, others helped the people in their resistance. Halil Hulusi Efendi (Ermiş) was, at the time, Head of Religious Administration in Burdur. He encouraged the people to take up arms against the occupation. Together with his brother, Hacı Ahmet Efendi, they have supported the resistance. Hacı Ahmet Efendi was later elected Mayor while Halil Hulusi Efendi was elected to represent Burdur in the newly formed Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA). However, Halil Hulusi Efendi died two days after the first meeting of TGNA. It is crucial to take into account the actions of both Italian and Turkish parties during the period of Halil Efendi's contributions to the resistance.
