Anti-de sitter-wave solutions of higher derivative theories
    (American Physical Society, 2013) Gürses, M.; Hervik, S.; Şişman, T. Ç.; Tekin, B.
We show that the recently found anti-de Sitter (AdS)-plane and AdS-spherical wave solutions of quadratic curvature gravity also solve the most general higher derivative theory in D dimensions. More generally, we show that the field equations of such theories reduce to an equation linear in the Ricci tensor for Kerr-Schild spacetimes having type-N Weyl and type-N traceless Ricci tensors. © 2013 American Physical Society.

Iterative methods based on splittings for stochastic automata networks
    (1998) Uysal, E.; Dayar T.
This paper presents iterative methods based on splittings (Jacobi, Gauss-Seidel, Successive Over Relaxation) and their block versions for Stochastic Automata Networks (SANs). These methods prove to be better than the power method that has been used to solve SANs until recently. With the help of three examples we show that the time it takes to solve a system modeled as a SAN is still substantial and it does not seem to be possible to solve systems with tens of millions of states on standard desktop workstations with the current state of technology. However, the SAN methodology enables one to solve much larger models than those could be solved by explicitly storing the global generator in the core of a target architecture especially if the generator is reasonably dense. © 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. Topological Insulators: Electronic Band Structure and Spectroscopy
(Institute of Physics Publishing, 2017) Palaz S.; Koc, H.; Mamedov, Aamirullah M.; Özbay, Ekmel
In this study, we present the results of our ab initio calculation of the elastic constants, density of states, charge density, and Born effective charge tensors for ferroelectric (rhombohedral) and paraelectric phases (cubic) of the narrow band ferroelectrics (GeTe, SnTe) pseudopotentials. The related quantities such as bulk modulus and shear modulus using obtained elastic constants have also been estimated in the present work. The total and partial densities of states corresponding to the band structure of Sn(Ge)Te(S,Se) were calculated. We also calculated the Born effective charge tensor of an atom (for instance, Ge, Sn, Te, etc.), which is defined as the induced polarization of the solid along the main direction by a unit displacement in the perpendicular direction of the sublattice of an atom at the vanishing electric field. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
