1957 büyük Fethiye depremi

Türkiye'de görülen doğal afetler arasında deprem, kayda değer hasar bırakan afetlerden biridir. Kuzey Anadolu Fay Hattı, Doğu Anadolu Fay Hattı ve Batı Anadolu Fay Hattı Türkiye coğrafyasının büyük bir kısmını kapladığı için çok sık deprem görülmektedir. Bu depremler maddi hasara sebep olmalarının yanı sıra sosyal, kültürel ve politik boyutlarda da değişimlere neden olur. 1957 yılında gerçekleşen Büyük Fethiye Depremi de Türkiye doğal afet geçmişinde büyük yer kaplar. Kos gibi Yunan adalarında da etkisi hissedilen deprem Fethiye'de ağır maddi ve manevi kayıplara neden olmuştur. Depremin yerli ve yabancı basında büyük yer kaplaması depremzedelere hem devlet hem de yabancı ülkeler tarafından yardım ulaşmasını sağladı. Dönem hükümetinin sosyo-ekonomik politikaları deprem sonrası yardım sürecine de yansımıştır. Bu araştırmada depremin teknik özellikleri, bu teknik özelliklerin sonucunda oluşan yıkım, yıkımdan bölge halkının ne şekilde etkilendiği ve bu etkilerin Fethiye'nin günümüz yaşantısına etkileri incelenmiştir.

Considering low- and middle-income group projects of the Housing Development Administration (TOKİ) from a social sustainability perspective : the case of Temelli Blocks

This study aims to observe and analyze the daily lives of TOKİ Temelli Blocks’ residents by focusing on the quality of life, social equity, and sustainability of the community concepts of the social sustainability. Social sustainability constitutes one of the three dimensions of the debates on sustainability with the environmental and economic dimensions. Even though there is not an agreement what social sustainability consists of, it necessitates the well-being and liveability of living environments by its people-oriented considerations. TOKİ promotes housing projects for lowand middle-income group as green, healthy, and modern living environment. TOKİ Temelli Blocks is a typical example of these kinds of housing projects. In this study, the daily lives of the residents are being discussed in order to comprehend whether their lives are socially sustainable or not.
