Item Restricted Bilinçlenmek üzerine bir deneme(1977) İdil, Ahmet MümtazItem Open Access Bodiless art(1999) Selen, EserThis research is derived from the notion of body in recent art, which may be thought within a concept of bodilessness. The aim of the study is to evaluate the answer(s) to the question “How is this bodilessness possible, if it is?”. During the study different genres of art will be discussed, examined and explored concerning both the researcher works and some contemporary artists' works, which deal with the ideas of the body. The works will be analyzed both in terms of their plastic language and by referring to psychoanalytic concepts in order to point to a way to show how the viewer/reader may experience this bodilessness as the consequence of these works.Item Restricted Bu yazılar... bu yaşamlar(1985) Onur, BekirItem Restricted Hani'de sormuyor, gösteriyor: Oruç Aruoba(1994) Koyuncu, CenkItem Restricted Hayat ve kitaplar : Nermi Uygur ve "Yaşam felsefesi"(1982) Aruoba, ZeynepItem Open Access Introduction(Oxford Scholarship Online, 2016) Berges, Sandrine; Coffee, A. M. S. J.; Berges, Sandrine; Coffee, A. M. S. J.In the Introduction to this volume, the authors attempt to reflect on the place of Wollstonecraft studies in the recovery project through the attempts to (re-) introduce texts by women in academic philosophy; to present a brief biography of Mary Wollstonecraft, and to introduce each chapter in the volume. This introduction also presents aspects of Wollstonecraft scholarship: a study of her intellectual background, from her possible acquaintance with ancient texts to her engagement with eighteenth-century political philosophy; and her social and political thought, showing that it goes beyond feminism and deals with questions of children and animal rights, property rights and slavery. The chapter concludes with a more detailed look at her specifically republican outlook on freedom.Item Open Access An investigation of the relation among religious, aesthetic and power representations in sacred art using the examples of Tibetan Buddhist thanka paintings and Orthodox Christian icons(1998) Özgüzer, SelinThe aim of this study is to investigate the relation among religious, aesthetic and power representations in Tibetan Buddhist thankas and Orthodox Christian icons because of the sharp differences between the two religions. After the main concepts of the religions are examined, the purpose of sacred arts, their methods of communication and place of visuality in these religions are investigated. Then icons and thankas are compared in terms of representation methods of religious figures, nature, death and power.Item Restricted Meanings of Life by Roy F. It is the focus of this study of recent transformations in Turkish metropolises, due to its primary influence on urban life. As an initial attempt to understand the Turkish situation, a field survey was carried out in Bilkent Shopping Center, a newly built shopping mall in a high-income suburban area of the capital city, Ankara. Some long-lasting assumptions about Western consumption trends and shopping mall development were tested to provide clues for dynamics in a developing country. In addition to statistical analyses of data obtained from structured interviews, various observations were used to enrich the survey. Although shopping mall development seems to be a part of a global trend, there exist socio-cultural influences creating local patterns in the use of the mall. These patterns differ with user characteristics, such as gender, age and occupation, as well as the time of visit. This paper suggests that shopping mall development poses a number of policy issues for planning bodies and these issues need to be addressed with an awareness of the local context.Item Restricted Türkiye'de hayat sigortasının gelişim süreci(Bilkent University, 2021) Gökoğlu, Destina; Özer, Hande; Zümrütdal, Umut; Yurtseven, Sinan; Timur, ZeynepRisklerin çeşitlenerek arttığı dünyamızda sigortacılık, özellikle de fon yaratma özelliğiyle hayat sigortacılığı ekonomik ve sosyal yönden gelişmiş ülkelerin vazgeçilmez unsurlarından biridir.
