It is argued that Mango's efforts greatly influenced the field of Turkish Studies, as a result of his cultural background and his perspective of Turkey and it sinhabitants. This is firstly addressed by exploring his Levantine roots and early life to present how they shaped the point of view that he held regarding his birth country. Moving on, his works will be expanded up on in order to present what made them standoutfromthealreadypresentwritingsin his field, them ostnotableof which being his biography of Atatürk.
