    An analysis on fairytale and tongue twisters: "Zaman Zaman içinde"

    In this study Pertev Naili Boratav's book Zaman Zaman İçinde, which consists of the fairytales and the tongue twisters that he collected, is examined in terms of its theoretical basis, the method it follows, and its sources. Boratav's use of comparative, nationalist, and structural theories and the method he followed is also analyzed.

    The architect of city legends : the Great Sinan

    In this study, the traditional definition of legend and its characteristics are compared with that of city legends, moving from three legends about the Great Architect Sinan that are told in the city. It is also examined that under which circumstances and why these legends have emerged in the city as well as their functions in the city life.

    The text controlling the narration

    In this paper the interview made with the narrator on May 12, 2002 at Bilkent University and the texts collected during this interview are interpreted in terms of the factors affecting the performance during the recreation process. The data related to the interview and the texts collected are examined for the influence of the narrator's and the collector's social status and education levels on the performance. The transformation of the products of oral culture today, especially the effect of written culture on oral culture are also analyzed.
