dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractKurulduğu dönemde tekel olması dolayısıyla Türk insanının kültürel yaşamında önemli yeri olan TRT’nin değeri izleyici açısından tartışmasızdır. 1980 yıllarının sonlarına doğru başlamış olan kültür politikaları sebebiyle TRT ekranlarında hayatımıza girmiş, döneminin ve kanalın birçok kültür-sanat programından biri olan, Seynan Levent sunuculuğunda Akşama Doğru programı 1988’da ekranlarda seyircisi ile buluşmuştur. Program yayınlandığı on beş sene içerisinde birçok kültür konusuna ev sahipliği yapmış, birbirinden farklı sanatçılar, ressamlar, müzisyenler, yönetmenler davet edilmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra Seynan Levent programın yüzü olmuş ve programla bir anılır hale gelmiştir. Program 15 senenin sonunda 10 Eylül 2004 yılında son programını yaparak seyircilerine veda etmiştir.en_US
dc.description.abstractFor the cultural living style of Turkish people the value of TRT is undisputed, since it was the only TV channel when it was founded. Because of the culture regulation that was launched in 1980, Akşama Doğru, an art and culture program hosted by Seynan Levent entered our lives amongst many other art and culture programs. In it's lifetime of 15 years Akşama Doğru became a host for many topics of cultural debate and invited all kinds of painters, musicians, directors...etc and the host of the program Seynan Levent became the face and the icon of this program. Akşama Doğru said farewell to it's viewers after 15 years of airing on the 10th of September 2004.en_US
