Abstract

This article deals with the artistic personality of one of the 201h centuries female painters Fahr El Nissa Zeid, who by some has been deemed "an inexplicable. or rather uncategorizable artist". As the daughter of a family of artists Zeid has a strong sense of vision. Zeid, whose paintings which also have features of certain Ottoman arts, has been on display all over the world. She has shown an insatiable interest in the art movements originating abroad, different art norms, methods, values and through a merger of these has created a personal style. Zeid who has the vision to break through the barriers that separate authentic indigenous features and international style, universal legacy and the western culture, states that painting is the meaning of life for her.
