dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstract1974-1996 yılları arasında Türkiye'de köklü siyasal ve toplumsal değişiklikler yaşanmıştır. Teknolojinin hızla gelişmesi, darbe sonrası baskıcı ortam gibi siyasi etkenler, Türkiye'nin sosyal yapısı ve dönemin medyası üzerinde etkilere neden olmuştur. Yapılan araştırmalardan yola çıkarak, 1974-1996 yılları arasında Türkiye'nin siyasi ve sosyal yapısı, Türk kadının iş ve toplum hayatındaki yeri, eğitim durumu ve medyası hakkında bir çalışma yürütülmüştür. Araştırma 1974 - 1996 yılları arasında TRT'de spikerlik yapmış olan Gülper İnanç ve onun hayatını kapsamaktadır. İnanç'ın aile yapısı, eğitimi ve bahsedilen dönemde Türkiye'de kadın haber ve televizyon spikeri olması ve 1974-1996 yıllarındaki TRT'nin işleyiş biçiminden bahsedilmiştir.
dc.description.abstractBetween 1974-1996, significant political and social changes occurred in Turkey. The rapid development of technology, as well as the repressive environment after the strike such as political factors, caused an impact on social structure of Turkey and media of that era. A study has been conducted based on a performed research; It's about political and social structure of Turkey, the place of Turkish woman in business, social life and educational status and Turkish media between 1974-1996. Aforecited research contains the life of Gülper İnanç who worked as an announcer in TRT between 1974-1996. It also includes, İnanç's family life, education and being a female TV and news announcer in Turkey at that period and at the same time the operation style of TRT between 1974 - 1996, has been mentioned
