dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstract1964 yılında Türkiye Radyo Televizyon Kurumunun kurulmasıyla Türkiye'de televizyon yayıncılığı adına ilk adımlar atılmıştır. Sonrasında TRT'nin ilk gezi programı olmasıyla bilinen Gezelim Görelim programı 1985 yılında yayın hayatına başlamıştır. Kültür programlarına yeni bir soluk getiren Gezelim Görelim, temel olarak Anadolu'nun kendine özgü kültürünü ve değerlerini konu almış, insanlara keşfedilmemiş güzellikleri tanıtmıştır. Kısa zamanda büyük ilgi gören program, gerek içeriğiyle gerek de teknik bilgileriyle ilerleyen dönemlerde kültür ve gezi programlarına ilham kaynağı olmuştur. 2016 yılına kadar yayınlarını sürdüren Gezelim Görelim, geniş bir kitleye hitap etmesi sayesinde Türk kültür ve turizminin gelişmesinde de önemli rol oynamıştır.
dc.description.abstractAfter the establishment of Turkish Radio and Television Corporation in 1964, television broadcasting in Turkey started. In 1985,the Gezelim Görelim which was the first travel program of TRT started brodcasting. Gezelim Görelim gave a new impulse to culture programs and it mainly focused on the unique culture and values of Anatolia. Also, it introduced the undiscovered places to the viewers. The program, which attracted great attention in a short period of time, inspired other cultural and travel programs in the following periods with its content and technical knowledge. Gezelim Görelim continued its broadcasting until 2016 and played an important role in the development of Turkish culture and tourism thanks to its appeal to a wide audience.
