Makalede 1990-2000 yılları arasındaki dönemdeki İzmir Barosu incelenmiştir. İzmir Barosu tarihçesi hakkında ve Baro’nun ilişkili olduğu kurumlar hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Baro ve avukatlık kavramları açıklanmıştır. İzmir Barosunun yapısı ve işleyişi üzerinde durulmuştur. Baro’nun o dönemde yaptığı yeniliklerden bahsedilmiştir. Ardından İzmir Barosu ile diğer ilgili kurumlar arasındaki ilişkiler incelenmiştir. Bu dönemde Türkiye’nin gündemini ilgilendiren ulusal sorunlarda da İzmir Barosu kamuoyunu bilgilendirmek amacıyla görüşünü açıklayarak hukuk ve demokrasi görevini yerine getirmiştir.

In the article, the Izmir Bar Association between the years 1990-2000 has been examined. Information was given about the history of the Izmir Bar Association and the institutions that the Bar Association is associated with. The concepts of bar association and attorneyship are explained. The structure and functioning of the Izmir Bar Association are emphasized. The innovations made by the Bar Association at that time are mentioned. Then, the relations between the Izmir Bar Association and other relevant institutions were examined. In the mentioned period, information was given about the processes between these institutions and the Bar Association. In addition, the reactions and stance of the Izmir Bar Association against the political events of that period were examined and brief information was given about the political events.
