1960-1980 dönemlerinde oluşan siyasi ve ekonomik dalgalanmalar Türk Tiyatrosunu da önemli ölçüde etkilemiştir. Dönemin koşullarının getirdiği kısıtlamaların sanatçıları çok zorlamasına rağmen birçok sanatçı Türk Tiyatrosunun gelişimi için önemli çalışmalarda bulunmuştur. Ankara Devlet Tiyatrosu sanatçılarından Turgay Tanülkü de bu önemli sanatçılardan biridir. Bu zorlu dönemlerde tiyatro eğitimini tamamladıktan sonra hem eğitmen hem de bir sanatçı olarak Türk Tiyatrosu adına önemli işler yapmıştır. Bu araştırmada Turgay Tanülkü ile röportaj yapılarak 1960-1980 dönemi Türk Tiyatrosunun ve kişisel hayatının incelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Tanülkü’nün Türk Tiyatrosuna olan katkılarının yanında kişisel hayatında çocukluktan itibaren yaşadığı zorluklar, cezaevi sürecinde edindiği tecrübeler ve çocukları için verdiği mücadele bu ödev kapsamında yer almaktadır.

The Turkish Theater was greatly influenced by the political and economic changes that occurred between 1960 and 1980. Due to the limitations enforced by the period's circumstances, many artists produced significant works that contributed to the growth of Turkish Theater. Turgay Tanülkü, a member of the Ankara State Theater, is one of these substantial artists. After finishing his theater education during the difficult times, he did important work for the Turkish Theater as both an instructor and an artist. By interviewing Turgay Tanülkü, the aim was to explore Turkish Theater and personal life of him from 1960 to 1980. In addition to the contributions of Tanülkü to the Turkish Theater, the difficulties experienced in his personal life since childhood, his experiences in the prison process and the struggle he gave for his children are within the scope of this assignment.
