Aviation, in a general understanding, is flying with and working on man-made machinery. Improvement of aviation both around the world and in Turkey, have accelerated in the last 100 years. Along with the improvement, women who wanted to take part in social life started to engage in aviation earlier than they did in other fields. In this research paper, the role of women in Turkish aviation was covered by referring to the interview conducted with Emel Arman, the first Turkish female captain pilot who flew over the Atlantic Ocean. Additionally, women’s role in Turkish aviation was examined starting from the first Turkish female pilots until now.en_US
