Meryem Ana Evi'nin ibadete açılması ve Selçuk kültürüne ve turizmine etkileri

Meryem Ana evi İzmir'in Selçuk ilçesinde bulunan turistik ve dini değeri olan bir tarihi yapıdır. Evin dini önemi Meryem Ana'nın ölmeden önce bu evde yaşadığı rivayetine dayanmaktadır. Ev 50'lerde belirgin bir popülerleşme yaşayarak ulusal ve yabancı medyada ses getirmeye başlamıştır. Bu popülerleşmeyi Papa tarafından hac yeri ilan edilmesi izlemiştir. Hristiyanlar için hac ibadetinin yapılabileceği yerlerden biri olan Meryem Ana Evi günümüzde ülkemizdeki "inanç turizmi" merkezlerinden biri olarak hizmet vermeye devam etmektedir.
