Abstract

The East Turkestan region, known as one of the first settlements of Turks, has hosted many nations, especially the Uighur Turks. After the invasion of the East Turkestan Republic, by the People's Republic of China in 1949, many Uyghur Turks abandoned East Turkestan and migrated to various countries in consequence of the policies implemented for this region by People’s Republic of China. Tümtürk family, was one of the families who abandoned East Turkestan and fled to Afghanistan. After living there for a while they emigrated to Turkey which was their primary destination to settle. In this framework pre-migration and during the migratio process of Tümtürk family, their adaptation to the conditions of Turkey and current situation of the family are examined.
